Youth and Family Call Committee Update

5-12-10

The Call Committee is pleased to announce that we have entered a new phase in the call process - the interviews.

On April 27th, Noreen Stevens from the Synod met with the committee to present us with profiles for potential candidates. While the committee had originally asked for five candidates, four candidates were presented that evening and we will be receiving the name of a fifth candidate within the next two weeks. The names presented by the Synod were both a combination of names brought forth by our congregation and the Synod. Each candidate is presented with a profile that contains educational and work experience, self descriptions of strengths and gifts in ministry, and theological philosophies. Additionally, the committee has requested an audio or video tape of a sermon and the most recent annual report from the church where each candidate is currently serving. We are excited to report that each candidate has strong credentials and excellent gifts in the area of Youth and Family Ministry.

Each of the four candidates has been scheduled for a first round of interviews. Two candidates were interviewed on May 11th and the remaining candidates will be scheduled for interviews on May 20th and May 26th. After the initial round of interviews, two candidates will be invited back for a second interview with the Committee and an individual interview with Pastor Paul.

As you can see, May continues to be a busy but extremely exciting time for the Call Committee. We are thankful for the opportunity during this interview time to share this process with the congregation. Given we want to keep the confidentiality of the candidates, we are unable to share specific details but are able to assure you that we have a well qualified and talented list of Pastors to consider. Please continue to share with us your questions and concerns as we enter the interview phase of the Call process. We ask for your prayers and support to help guide us during this exciting ti
