CHRIST THE KING MISSIONS AND MINISTRIES
CTK has been sponsoring Jean Wahlstrom and Marv Kananen. Jean is the Chaplain, coordinating all worship activities on the Massae Girls Lutheran Secondary School (MGLSS) campus. She also teaches Bible Knowledge, Divinity and English and assists the administration of the school. Marv teaches at the other local Lutheran secondary school in Monduli, Moringe Sokoine Secondary School, and he also leads the largest AA group in Tanzania.
We Lutherans have missionaries in many places doing many things. We sometimes have images of missionaries out in the bush bringing people the love and knowledge of Jesus for the very first time; however, few are doing that today. Those missionaries who have gone before did the cultivating and planting work, while most of the evangelism today is being done by those Tanzanian children who learned about evangelism sitting at the feet of missionaries, children who grew up to become Tanzanian pastors and evangelists. Today missionaries bring other skills, education, health care and economic development, all pressing needs for people in Tanzania. The missionaries today share the same Gospel as those early missionaries, the Good News of Jesus Christ. They are people who, in their lives and work and commitment to the people, serve faithfully.
CTK through the Global Mission Team has been supporting Maasae Girl's Secondary School (MGLSS) by providing funds for a dining hall, an administration building, and supporting seven students each year at the school. The scholarships are $375.00 per year.
CtK also supports the Moringe Sokoine Secondary School (MSSS) through providing scholarships for seven students, providing funds for their administration building, faculty housing, chairs for their dining hall and computers for a computer lab. Scholarship are $375.00 per year.
If you would like to support a girl or boy through the scholarship program, make your check out to Christ the King and indicate your how the gift will be used in the memo line of the check, then place it in the regular offering or send it to the church office

THANKS FOR MAKING CHRISTMAS SO SPECIAL FOR OUR TANZANIA FRIENDS.
On behalf of all the Tanzanian recipients of the alternative Christmas gifts you purchased at Christmastime, “asante sana” – thank you very much.
Because of your generosity in buying dairy goats and piglets, many people will have food for their families.
Because of your gifts of bee hives, our companion congregation will have a source of income to supplement its church budget.
Because of your spirit of giving, many congregants will be seated comfortably during church services and students will have desks to sit at rather than standing or sitting on dirt floors.
Because malaria is an ever-present health threat, your purchases of mosquito nets may have saved lives.
Because you shared your gifts through the purchase of school books, fewer students will have to share a single textbook.
And because you bought Swahili Bibles, over 100 secondary school students will own their very own Bible, a precious gift indeed.
